Ginger holds a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas State University and currently works as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the neonatal intensive care unit. She is a writer and student of #1 NY Times bestselling author, Richard Paul Evans through his Author Ready program. Her interests include reading, writing, healthy living, and spending time in nature. She resides in San Antonio, Texas with her husband Stuart.

My Story:

From the time I was a little girl, my mom instilled in me a love for the written word. My earliest memories with her involved sitting on my bed reading illustrated Bible stories. This evolved into sharing books from her childhood like Nancy Drew, the Bobbsey Twins, and the Black Stallion. At first, I was more interested in playing with my brother, dreaming up crazy adventures like living on a lobster boat or running away from home than actually reading.

But Mom was persistent and diligently took my brother and me to the library during the summer. When we went on vacation, she would carefully choose a novel or two for her to read and made sure we had Hank the Cowdog to listen to in the car as we drove once a year from our Texas home to our favorite vacation spot in Colorado. It was on these trips to Colorado when I really learned to love to read. When I was old enough, Mom introduced me to Louis L’Amour. Reading these stories while sitting on a cabin porch looking at the Colorado Rockies, I could easily imagine myself as the heroine of an adventure, that usually involved me falling in love with a cowboy who rode a beautiful horse.

As a young adult I began keeping a journal, which included writing about our Colorado vacations. I learned to process my feelings and my faith through writing, taking inspiration from authors such as Janette Oak and Francine Rivers.  Over the years I have learned that the written word is powerful enough to evoke inspiration that might influence someone to change their life, grow their faith and that reminds them of the God who loves us. My hope is that my words would inspire you, to love more, live more fully and to appreciate the power of the gospel and the love of Jesus.
